Dengue in Italy

As of 19 September 2024, a total of 25 locally acquired dengue cases have been reported in Italy since the start of the year. A total of 20 cases were confirmed as dengue virus type 2 (DENV-2) in the Marche Region. Sporadic cases of locally acquired DENV type 1, 2 and 3 were reported in Abruzzo, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Lombardy Regions.
